Storthes Hall Park Student Bar & Lounge

Project Value
£397,000

Duration
12 Weeks

Sector
Commercial, Hospitality

This project acquired by Whitaker and Leach involved the refurbishment and replacement of a student lounge and bar area. The company manufactured and produced all internal and external joinery works according to the clients’ specifications.

Preliminary works included: stripping out the original space, installing all structural steelworks and breaking out walls to form new entrance openings – as per site plan.

Once manufactured, the brand-new bar was installed, along with worktops, suspended ceilings, roller shutters and sliding doors. Working closely to the client’s requirements, additional instalments were: ventilation, beer pumps, phones and kitchen equipment.

Externally, timber decking, fencing and flags were supplied and installed; providing an open and spacious platform ideal for casual dining.

A variety of contrasting materials, bright colours and numerous feature walls were incorporated into the lounge layout – creating an edgy and vibrant student space.

Floors were sanded, prepped and polished to give a fresh, shiny finish.

Further considerations were the practicality of the layout, and flexibility and durability of the materials used. Due to the large capacity of students who would be using the space, it was essential that the new facilities would meet all three of these credentials at a high standard.
